  1. I’m not criticizing “laymen” for not seeing the significance in these documents. I’m criticizing people I’ve worked with who are paid vast amounts of money for duties than include making decisions about similar documents.
  2. One need not know any acronym used in any of these emails to determine from them that they involve meetings between intelligence contracting firms and Apple and Google.
  3. This is particularly true when the editors in question have had these emails explained to them in advance, as those at The Intercept did.
